Jack's artistic practice stem from a fascination of the mass produced and kitsch. These motifs are used as a framework for a progressive study into abstract painting and a critique of contemporary culture, which he sees as a cannibalistic culture of signs and repetitive fashions. The chocolate box landscape are in the artist's mind, more neutral than a flat colour or blank space, a total absence of taste and opinion. The obliteration of this imagery are an effort to remove the artist as a centre point and make room for the viewer and/or participation in the creation of the artwork, often utilising optical illusions to signify a non linear method to interpret the work.
